The water from the hot tap in your bath will not feel as hot as the other taps in your home. New homes have to comply with building regulations which includes hot water safety, therefore the bath water cannot exceed 48 degrees centigrade.

This cannot be altered or changed to protect your safety in your home.

Hot bath tap video transcript

Hello, this video is to help inform you about the hot water in your home.

You may have noticed that the hot water from the hot water taps in your bath does not feel as hot as the other taps in your home. This is because all new homes have to comply with building regulations that deal with hot water safety. This means that the bath tap water cannot exceed 48°.

A safety valve has been installed underneath your bath and within the pipe work to control the maximum temperatures and these safety features cannot be removed.
