Our residents are entitled to live in homes that are safe and meet their everyday needs; that is why over the last few years we have invested heavily in planned improvements and responsive repairs programmes that meet their expectations.
With the introduction of the new tenancy satisfaction measures, strengthening of health and safety legislation and an expected new Decent Homes standard, the focus on our existing properties has never been greater. We aim to build on the strong foundations already in place in our repairs service, re-letting of empty properties and our improvement services. This will ensure that we are not only protecting our assets, but more importantly, ensuring that they are safe and meet the needs of our residents.
“Ensuring that we understand how our properties are performing will enable us to plan repairs and improvement programmes effectively, reducing demand on reactive services and improving resident experience. However, having a well-run repairs service remains a key priority for us, and we look forward to involving residents in the development of these services over the next five years.” Andrew Rysdale, Assistant Director of Property
Our Ambition for 2030
Invest – by involving residents, contractors and relevant stakeholders in our maintenance services, this will ensure that the needs and requirements of our residents are at the heart of our service delivery.
Expert services – holding up-to-date relevant property data will inform our improvement programmes.
New Technology – assessing how we can use new technology to enhance the customer experience.
Safe Homes – ensuring our homes are safe and secure, meeting and where possible, exceeding current regulations.
Measuring Success
Reduced need for responsive repairs – having accurate up to date property information will allow us to identify essential repair and improvement works.
Improved satisfaction with our services – providing a truly flexible repairs service that’s both convenient and effective for our residents.
Installing new technology into our houses – being able to monitor property performance will reduce the number of contacts made to our residents and allow us to proactively resolve repair issues, in some cases, before they happen.
Compliant homes in desirable communities – offering safe and secure homes is essential for our residents, creating a space our residents can be proud of encourages homes to be well looked after.
