A Year as Fairhive
In April 2022, we became a Community Benefit Society (CBS) which means we have been able to achieve a more streamlined structure, make our processes more efficient and better align our ways of working with our purpose and vision as a Social housing Landlord in Aylesbury Vale and beyond.
As we've developed over the years, we've expanded and developed our homes and communities outside of the Vale (into Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Slough, and South Northamptonshire), so having Aylesbury in our name was no longer representative of our residents or service area. We want to thank our residents, employees and board, past and present, for supporting us with feedback, focus groups, and shaping how the brand and our services look today.
Here are just some of the milestones we have accomplished so far in our Fairhive journey:
- We have awarded 130 grants worth an incredible £227,007 through our Thriving Communities Fund.
- We ran our first Community Fun Day (Reconnect) since the pandemic with over 200 residents joining us at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre.
- Our Welfare Team secured £4.5 million in unclaimed benefits for residents who needed this support.
- The Delivery Team handed over 197 properties, more than ever before.
- Our electric cars were used for over 22,000 miles and our electric vans covered more than 6,000 miles - cutting our carbon emissions on day to day callouts.
- We worked on a series of Environmental Improvements including planting trees and running popular community gardening events.
- We joined forces with Buckinghamshire Housing Association.
- We achieved Disability Confident Level 3 and are now recognised as a Disability Confident Leader.
We have been busy on social media this month, talking about what we have been working on over the last year. If you aren’t already following our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, they are a great way to keep up to date with events, local services and important updates.
