Colour table top stand with leaflets, booklets and branded cards as well as pens to show off Fairhive work and career opportunities. This week we returned to the Stoke Mandeville Stadium for Bucks Skills Hub’s Confident Futures Show 2024! This annual careers event offers a welcoming and inclusive opportunity for young people and career seekers with special educational needs and disabilities or those facing barriers to entering the workforce.

We attended with another one of our colourful and enticing stands, alongside fellow non-profits and local businesses from all over Buckinghamshire and beyond.

It was fantastic to get to engage with students from local schools and teachers, parents and carers, to share our passion for the Housing industry and the variety of opportunities we have on offer as a Disability Confident Leader. We were also able to connect with other organisations to help us increase our training offer for residents and employees around key EDI topics such as neurodiversity.A film crew interviewing a man behind the fairhive stand and a banner that reads Equality Diversity and Inclusion

This year we were lucky enough to join the Disability Confident Employer Workshop held between the morning and afternoon show sessions. With speakers from local businesses and educational professionals, we learned a lot and were able to raise questions for discussion as part of a disability confident working group of local business leaders.
