Upcoming Inclusion Session: Discussing life with Diabetes

We are excited to announce our next inclusion session for residents, which will focus on raising awareness about Diabetes. Following the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our previous sessions on Dementia and Epilepsy, we decided to explore additional topics that resonate with our residents. These sessions aim to encourage open discussion about important topics and provide knowledge and personal insights from our speakers to help those who attend feel more confident in supporting themselves or others.

This upcoming training is open to all residents, whether you’re a volunteer or simply interested in learning more. It will offer valuable insights into understanding Diabetes (both Type 1 and Type 2 will be discussed), the challenges individuals with Diabetes may face, and ways to provide meaningful support.

We’d like to extend our thanks to John, our Assistant Director of People, and Conrad, one of our residents, for volunteering to share their personal experiences during the session.

Event Details:

Date: Thursday, 13th February
Time: 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Location: Aylesbury (when you register, we’ll send you the venue details and how to get there)

These awareness sessions were inspired by our employee Inclusion Networks, which have been running successfully for over three years. During our Residents’ Forum, the idea emerged to expand these sessions, fostering a broader conversation with residents as part of our ongoing commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). These free knowledge-sharing sessions are designed for residents and, in this case, feature a resident speaker. Our goal is to make them both informative and inspiring.

We hope that you can join us for this engaging session, please click here to register your attendance.

To ensure this session is accessible to all residents, we can assist with transport and childcare costs if needed. Please contact us for further details.
