Encouraging Community Engagement at our Orchard Picnic

In July, we were joined by Thames Valley Police and the Aylesbury Community Board on a warm, sunny Friday afternoon for a community event at Wycliffe End. The event provided a unique opportunity for residents and people local to the area, to chat with our team, interact with police officers, and raise thoughts with the Aylesbury Community Board in a welcoming environment.

We offered various interactive elements such as games for the little ones, picnic spaces for families, and our popular Plant and Pot activity! Thames Valley Police were very busy demonstrating how to security mark bikes and scooters and handed out some extra kits for residents to take home. Those who attended had the chance to participate in informative conversations about their local area, personal safety, and raise any concerns. These conversations not only empowered residents with knowledge but also allowed them to actively contribute towards maintaining a safer community whilst making recommendations about their local area.

Community Engagement Officer, Iva, added “It was a fabulous fun event that highlighted the importance of engaging with the local community to hear their views and concerns, promote our services and opportunities as well as our environmental strategy. It was great to see residents of all ages take part and share their community spirit.”

Thanks to everyone that came to say hello!
