Have you heard of our Nurture Your Neighbourhood Scheme?
The Nurture Your Neighbourhood Improvement Scheme is about adding investments into areas chosen by residents to make them tidier, easier to access, or encourage people to enjoy these spaces more. It may look like clearing an alleyway and adding CCTV cameras to make it safer for residents, planting up a green space that can then be used for a sensory garden or seating area, and much more! Since April 2015, we've been setting aside funds annually for residents to apply for, enabling them to choose which environmental or community safety enhancements are prioritised in their neighbourhood.
To qualify for consideration, your application must meet the following criteria:
- Be submitted by a Fairhive tenant or leaseholder
- Aimed at environmental or community safety improvements
- Intended to benefit your community or neighbourhood
- Supported by two residents from different households
Please ensure your idea meets the full criteria on this page before you submit your application form. You can also check out our NYN questions answered page. Once submitted, your application will be passed to the Nurture your Neighbourhood Resident Panel for review.
Here are some examples of projects the scheme supports:
- Landscaping improvements in shared gardens
- Initiatives to enhance parking facilities, such as additional spaces or white lining
- Upgrades to lighting in communal areas
- Installation of communal amenities like benches or fencing to improve communal gardens
- Implementation of CCTV systems
Before completing the application form please speak to one of our team, either from Community Engagement or Estate Services, to initially discuss your application. You can do this by calling 01296 732600 or by emailing hello@fairhive.co.uk.
If your application is approved, we or our approved contractors will carry out the work. Residents will not receive a grant to carry out the improvement works themselves through this initiative.
