Looking back at our Community and Resident events in 2024!

We’ve had an exciting and eventful year, filled with activities that brought our residents and the wider community together.

At our Independent Living Schemes, residents enjoyed Coffee Mornings in collaboration with Age UK and engaging chair-based Pilates sessions. These activities created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where residents could connect, socialise, and take part in enjoyable exercises to stay active and healthy.

These included Epilepsy Awareness, Everyday First Aid, and Dementia Awareness, equipping attendees with vital knowledge and skills to support those around them.

For our younger residents and their families,  Summer Fun made a much-anticipated return, offering a range of activities to keep children entertained during the school holidays. We also celebrated the amazing contributions of our resident volunteers during Volunteers’ Week, acknowledging their dedication and the positive impact they have on our communities.Chief Executive, Matthew Applegate and Community Apprentice smiling for a picture through a Volunteers Week photo frame.

The annual Great Gardens Competition, organised by our Estates Team, saw enthusiastic participation from many residents. The entries were truly impressive, showcasing vibrant creativity and gardening expertise. We loved seeing your blooming beautiful gardens and can’t wait to see what you grow in the year ahead!

Beyond our own events, we actively participated in community initiatives. At the Bucks Green Skills Hub launch, our Sustainability Team collaborated with local businesses to share ideas and gain insights into the Government’s vision for a greener future. This event emphasised our commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation.

Additionally, we returned to the Bucks Skills Show and the Bucks Confident Futures Show, where we proudly showcased the opportunities Fairhive offers as a Disability Confident Leader. These events allowed us to connect with the wider community, showcase careers in Housing, and highlight our dedication to inclusivity and opportunities for people with disabilities.

As we look back on a fantastic year, we want to thank everyone who joined us, participated in our events, and contributed to making our communities stronger and more vibrant. We’re excited to see what the next year brings!
