Enhancing Energy Efficiency With Our Warm Home Improvements Programme
This year, our Sustainability Team has been busy launching the new ‘Warm Home Improvements’ programme, dedicated to enhancing living spaces by making them warmer, more comfortable, and more sustainable for both current and future generations. These works will improve the energy performance of various properties, allowing the families in them to live more comfortably with potentially lower energy bills.
The work we’re doing is part of a broader national effort to improve energy efficiency and achieve Net Zero by 2050. To support our investment and accelerate these upgrades, we have successfully secured government funding from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). We have selected United Living as our key delivery partner to undertake these improvement works. The programme focuses on several properties that are most needed to allow a targeted approach to meeting these goals.
In an exciting update, we have completed the first phase of our project, finalising improvements to seven homes in Aylesbury with external wall and loft insulation measures. These upgrades are already making a difference, providing increased energy efficiency to the residents. Building on this momentum, we have started work in Whitchurch, where we are implementing a mix of measures including air source heat pumps, storage heater upgrades, solar panels, and loft insulation.
