A summer filled with fun activities for our residents
Our ‘Summer Fun’ events are an opportunity to take part in a free activity across a week of the summer holidays organised and run by our Community Engagement Team. These events are perfect for children on their holidays as sessions are suited to different age ranges.
We welcomed our residents to Thomley, a place for people of all abilities and disabilities. This was our second time returning to this Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) venue and the feedback we have received has been amazing. Residents enjoyed the English summer weather outdoors as well as making the most of the two sensory rooms with fibre optics and even an interactive sensor floor.
For our littlest residents, it was all about getting creative with ‘Craft and Play’ where parents stayed and got involved with their children and chatted to us about volunteering opportunities and the services we offer.
This year, we hosted our first-ever family day at Odds Farm Park. It provided a wonderful chance for our residents to enjoy a day at the farm, connect with us, and have fun interacting with the animals.
Our ‘Gallop and Groom’ day concluded the events at Horsewyse in Long Crendon. The team enjoyed helping the children get stuck by tacking up, riding, and washing the ponies to prepare them for the fields. Our Customer Services Manager, said: “We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families and children who joined us for this year’s ‘Summer Fun’. It was wonderful to see so many people participate and enjoy the events. As an organisation, we're grateful for the opportunity to host these events for our residents and to witness the positive impact they have firsthand.”
