Work towards decarbonisation heats up

We have celebrated our first milestone in Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund Project
In October 2024 we were pleased to announce that we successfully completed the first seven properties under the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund, formerly known as the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) project. This achievement marked a significant advance in our mission to enhance the energy efficiency and comfort of our homes, while also reducing carbon emissions and meeting government deadlines.
Feedback from residents of the newly completed homes so far has been positive. These enhancements not only improve the quality of life for residents but also illustrate the tangible benefits of investing in sustainable housing solutions. This project's success emphasises the strong collaborative partnership with United Living Property Services. United Living and ourselves are dedicated to delivering high-quality upgrades and services that meet the needs of residents
As work progresses steadily, the team is enthusiastic about implementing improvements to approximately 300 homes in the coming years. These upgrades will play a crucial role in lowering energy bills, enhancing comfort, and achieving the environmental targets set forth in our 5 year strategy, launching April 2025. Edd Willmot, the project lead, stated, "We are immensely proud to have reached this milestone in the SHDF project. The positive feedback from our residents reaffirms our commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable homes. This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our team and our partners at United Living. We look forward to completing the next phases of this project and delivering further benefits for our residents and the environment."
